While taking a sunrise walk on the boardwalk along the shore of the mighty Chesapeake Bay, I came up a heron which immediately took flight.  Seeing the bird leaving the marshy shore and take flight against the morning sun was a scene that inspired me to create Heron at Sunrise .  I only hope I captured the heron's awe-inspiring majesty.
